Stephen M. Nassau

(1940 - 2001)

Stephen M. Nassau was an outstanding lawyer and a founding partner of the firm. A graduate of Brown University and the Columbia University School of Law, Steve clerked for a judge on the D.C. Court of Appeals after graduation from law school. After working for the National Labor Relations Board, he was Associate General Counsel for the National Educational Association in Washington, D.C. for eight years.

Steve chaired the Human Relations Commission in Montgomery County, Md. A founding member of the Legislative Study Group, Steve ran twice for the Maryland State Legislature in the 1970's and served on the Maryland State Democratic Central Committee. He was a longtime member of the American Civil Liberties Union. He served on the Board of his synagogue.

In his law practice, Steve represented numerous individuals, non-profit organizations and small businesses. He is remembered warmly for his dedication to his family, his clients and his passion for improving people=s lives.
